Briana Grier
I am an American visual artist originally from North Carolina and currently based in Virginia. I have been painting since 2011 and sculpting since 2020. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts from Winston-Salem State University in 2019 and later completed my Master of Science in Art Therapy and Counseling at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
My work is heavily inspired by my emotions, imagination, and personal advocacy for mental health. Through my art, I strive to create dynamic, colorful, and meaningful pieces that explore the complexities of human emotion and the beauty of individual expression. I believe in creating artwork that deserves to have a witness. Work that evokes feeling, sparks curiosity, and invites others to connect with something beyond themselves.
I have participated in two group exhibitions. In 2019, I was featured in the Senior Thesis Exhibition at Diggs Gallery in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. In 2021, my work was featured in an HBCU Art Exhibition at the Trap Music Museum in Atlanta, Georgia.
Also in 2021, my artwork was selected for inclusion in Trapxart, a digital art magazine that highlights and features different artists each month.
